How we handle your information

We're a small studio in Boise. We collect very little, we use it only to run Heron & Co., and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

The short version

  • If you send us a note, we use it to get back to you. That's it.
  • We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
  • We don't use cookies, ads, or tracking across other websites.
  • Email hello@heronand.co to see, fix, or delete anything we have about you.

When you send us a note

The form asks for your name, your business (optional), your email address, and what's eating your week. When you press Send:

  • It's saved in our private records, which only we can sign in to, so we can follow up and keep track of our conversation.
  • A copy is emailed to our inbox so a real person sees it quickly.

The same applies if you email us directly. We use what you send to reply, set up a 20-minute chat, and, if we end up working together, to do that work.

Before we talk, we may look at public information about your business, such as its website and online reviews. We don't look into your personal life or personal social media.

We sometimes use AI tools, including Claude by Anthropic, to help organize our notes and prepare for a conversation. Those tools may process what you sent us for that purpose. We don't use your information to advertise to you.

When you visit this website

We count visits ourselves so we know whether anyone is finding us. For each page view we record:

  • the page and the date and time
  • the website that linked you here, if any (just its name, like google.com)
  • your approximate city, region and country, and your internet provider, which Cloudflare works out from your connection
  • your browser, operating system and type of device
  • whether the visit looks like an automated bot

We don't store your IP address. To count unique visitors, we keep a scrambled code that changes every day and can't be turned back into your address. No cookies are set, and nothing about your visit is shared with advertisers.

Who else is involved

This website, our records and our form all run on Cloudflare, which handles the technical side of delivering pages and protecting the website from attacks. Our email is handled by our email provider. AI tools are covered above. We host our own fonts and load nothing from other companies, so visiting this website doesn't send your information to anyone else.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep notes and conversation history for as long as they help us serve you or run the business. Visit records are only used in totals and trends.

You can ask us at any time to show you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@heronand.co and we'll take care of it and tell you when it's done.

This website isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
